Sky launches ultrafast broadband service
The Ultrafast 1 and Ultrafast 2 packages offer average download speeds of 145Mbps and 285Mbps.
Sky has launched two new ultrafast broadband packages.
Titled Ultrafast 1 and Ultrafast 2, they offer lightning-fast average download speeds of 145Mbps and 285Mbps respectively.
That’s a huge 12 times faster than the provider’s standard broadband offering and quick enough to download a glossy HD film in less than four minutes.
Both will also offer equally impressive upload speeds with Ultrafast 1’s averaging 27Mb and Ultrafast 2’s averaging 45Mb.
The services will be gradually rolled out across the UK during 2019 and 2020 with customers able to register their interest on Sky’s website.
It’s estimated that 2 million households across the UK will have access to Ultrafast 1 while another 1.2 million will be able to enjoy the increased speeds offered by Ultrafast 2.
“We want our customers to be able to do even more online, on more devices, without seeing their connection lag or drop,” said Kathryn Imrie, Director of Broadband at Sky.
“As a Sky Broadband Ultrafast customer, you will be able to seamlessly watch an HD movie, while your partner surfs the web and your kids are gaming in their bedroom.”
