CityFibre to extend full fibre network rollout in Milton Keynes
Another 7,000 homes throughout the city will soon have access to gigabit speeds.
CityFibre has announced that they are to expand their full fibre broadband network in Milton Keynes.
A new multi-million-pound investment will allow the London-based provider to connect up an additional 7,000 homes all across the city.
The Granemore Group will once again take charge of the second phase of this project working in conjunction with CityFibre and Milton Keynes council to deal with any problems which may arise.
Vodafone uses CityFibre’s network to deliver their Gigafast Broadband service with similar packages also available from TalkTalk and local provider ISP Fibrehop.
CityFibre began phase one of this network rollout in 2018 and finished it toward the end of last year
at the cost of £40 million.
This new expansion, along with the one before it, was carried out as part of CityFibre’s Gigabit City Investment Programme which aims to provide 8 million premises with access to this full fibre gigabit network by 2025.
“I’m delighted that we are able to build a second phase here in Milton Keynes to follow on from our original £40m investment,” said Jean Gowin CityFibre’s City Manager for Milton Keynes.
“This will mean extending our Full Fibre network to include even more homes, ensuring Milton Keynes remains one of the leading and best-connected cities in the UK.”
